How Your “Guy Time” Will Make You Better With Women

Why We Need More Male-Only Spaces

It’s no secret that male-only spaces are on the decline.

These spaces — whether they’re organized groups or casual meetups of only men — have accrued some major backlash over the past few months.

The most prominent example of this is Harvard’s recent decision to prevent members of single-gender clubs from holding leadership positions and being athletic team captains.

To toss a morbid cherry on top of that sundae, Harvard will also refuse to endorse single-gender club members for the Rhodes and Marshall scholarships.

There are a litany of reasons why these types of single-gender spaces are being shut down and socially shunned, and many of these reasons are valid…

But at the end of the day, male-only spaces are a good thing.

In fact, I’m going to show you why male-only spaces are not just good — they’re necessary — if you want to truly do better with women.

“Why Are So Many Male-Only Spaces Being Shut Down?”

You might be wondering why a woman is about to argue the benefits of a male-only space. I can’t blame you.

After all, many of the people criticizing these types of spaces are women.

Many women argue that these men-only spaces foster an environment that’s more conducive to inappropriate sexual behavior and rape, and the truth is that they’re not wrong.

Here’s the thing, though: Inappropriate sexual behavior and rape happen in female-only spaces as well.

Slate published an eye-opening article last year that detailed one woman’s experience of being raped by her close female friend.

Clearly, this is not a strictly male phenomenon.

Many women also feel that male-only spaces detract from the “feminist effort.”

What they might not realize is that by preventing men from creating their own spaces and having their own conversations, they prevent men from simply being themselves.

That’s Not All…

Men and women are inherently different — especially when it comes to the expression of emotions.

Depression is a perfect example of this.

While it’s true that every person diagnosed with depression will express their illness in a slightly different way, there are some bigger differences between depressed men and women that argue in great favor of male-only spaces.

Unlike women, men are not hard-wired to be good communicators.

Throw depression on top of a communication issue, and you’ve got a s— storm waiting to happen.

Who’s the person a depressed man will want to talk to when he’s feeling down and isn’t sure where to turn? Another like-minded man or a group of like-minded men.

Take away these spaces, and you’re taking away an effective suicide prevention method.

Here’s an Example:

Just look at Adam Frost, a student at Durham University who tried to start a male-only space after his friend committed suicide last year but was told he could only do it if it was a branch of the Feminist Society.

Frost’s friend had reached out to him for help with his depression, and Frost tried to give him support…

But he couldn’t give him the help he needed in time.

The stigma of male weakness is still very real, and it causes hundreds of deaths in the form of suicide every year.

Being part of a male-only space allows you to freely discuss your emotions without feeling like you’ll be judged, ridiculed, or attacked by angry feminists.

The Inside Truth About Female-Only Spaces

Male-only spaces are important, but let’s not forget about the ladies…

Have you ever wondered what really goes on in female-only spaces?

Whether it’s ladies who lunch, book clubs, or one of the millions of existing feminist groups, there are female-only spaces for just about everything.

And no, not all of these groups are filled with angry feminist lesbians. (But some of them are.)

Similarly, female-only spaces are not just slumber parties featuring avocado toast and pillow fights.

Female-only spaces are places for women to:

  • Talk about what it’s like to be a woman today…
  • Discuss solutions to gender-related issues…
  • Talk about men…
  • Feel free of judgment or the “male gaze”…
  • Do literally whatever they want…

In short, they’re not so different from male-only spaces…

But there are differences.

While female-only spaces are experiencing less of a backlash than male-only spaces, they’re often ridiculed.

In fact, one Chinese parking lot recently designated “female-only” parking spaces that are outlined in pink and are about 50% larger than the other spaces (pictured below).

male-only spaces

Yes, this is a “female-only space,” but it’s also a hateful joke reinforcing the stereotype that women can’t drive.

All that aside, the issue at large is the decline of the male-only space. And I’ve got just the solution.

What You Can Do About It Right Now

Without male-only spaces, you lose your rights to:

  • Act like a “man” when you want to…
  • Work out male-specific problems with a group of like-minded people…
  • Do and say what you want without having to worry about it being taken out of context…
  • Simply relax

You can reclaim your rights today.

In fact, you’ve got the ultimate male-only space at your fingertips: Gotham Club!

It’s true that GC isn’t a purely male space (I am a woman, after all)…

But all of our content is catered specifically to you.

It Doesn’t End There…

Gotham Club’s community is an open, judgment-free zone where you can go to ask any and all the questions you have about sex, dating, and, well, anything else.

So if you haven’t already, you can:

One of the main reasons more and more male-only spaces are being shut down is because they’re not considered “safe” or beneficial, but that’s not the fault of the space itself — it’s a product of the people in the space.

By being part of Gotham Club’s community, you’ll be joining a like-minded group of men who simply want to do better with women and are sick of reading the same advice over and over again.

And I haven’t even gotten started on the real benefits you’ll be getting…

Here’s What You Should Do…

As part of GC’s community, you’ll get all of the benefits I already mentioned — but there’s a big one I didn’t tell you about.
